Mediocre - M Huncho

M Huncho is one of my favourite artists at the moment, his story is conveyed well through his lyrics and the production of his music videos is of high caliber. His videos, especially Mediocre gave me a wealth of inspiration.

Mediocre uses an abandoned setting with an isolated character (M Huncho) who is filmed in a variety of different locations within the setting, with use of a wide range of camera shots and movements are used. I believe that the director (Suave) wanted to use the simple idea of having one character in the abandoned setting for simplicity so that the listeners can focus on the lyrics of the song. I wanted to do something similar in my own production. There is also use of cross fades which i will definitely incorporate into my production. Huncho is also wearing a large Canada Goose jacket, which is example of how important fashion is in Grime music videos. We are going to use something similar but use a stone Island jacket instead. There is also a whole lot of graffiti which adds to the sense that the song is about the streets but could have been filmed in a rural location, it makes the connection between the setting, song and the streets. This is another factor that we want to bring to our production .
